~~Cellar Hole hunt~~ Early ring and a few Relics to start 2014

[johnnyblaze]

Got out to the Cellar Hole i hit with the CT boys last summer

I hit it again about a month ago and found some early Colonial buttons and a Rev.War era Musket trigger guard

So i had to go there one more time to ease my mind

Got a sweet early ring
Im thinking Mid to early 1800's

A small Colonial cuff decor button..Tombac and the usual fatty..

Also dug this killer beetle out of hibernation he was bummin bad..I buried him again unharmed

I tell ya the side of the lower section of the chimney collapsed recently and im afraid after 300 years she will be coming down shortly..

Have fun out there

Quindy this was a different site but that day with the White Faced Hornets was something else

I actually used the method you told me to use for the gilt to bring it out.

Some nice digs JB, did you use the big coil on the T2 for this hunt?

[ModernMiner]

JB,
That looks like a great spot to detect. SWEET old ring there. Congrats on all the recoveries.
Your beetle sure beats the worm I dug up today. I put him back to rest too. He's lucky it wasn't fishing season.

Bubba i used the regular coil for this hunt my arm was sore from lifting weights and that big coil really works the arm..

That ring is so cool and it just reeks of old age. What do you think it is made of, is there any markings at all inside it?

[Bill D. (VA)]

That's a very cool looking site JB. Love that ring, and you don't see those mini skeleton keys very often either. Nice hunt!

Nice relics! Your site pics are so excellent I feel like I've been there also. Beetles are cool -- I always put bugs back where I dig them, with the exception of the extremely fast racing thread-like creatures at one site that totally freak me out when my hand is close to them, lol. They race through loose dirt like it's air! HAVE FUN! Andi

[park pirate]

Nice finds, like the ring...

Beautiful spot! Too bad that chimney is going down after so many years. Of course the man who built it probably never thought it would stand so long.

[Steve in PA]

Well done Mr. Blaze!! Good to see you getting out this time of year.

[Rick (Nova Scotia)]

I agree with bill, the ring, the key, as well as the beetle are cool finds.

Thanks Bill that small key is kinda of a strange black material that crumbles when rubbed

And i did not realize it until you guys mentioned it but they do not turn up often..
