Change from McDonald's
Received a Buffalo nickel and 1951 Wheatie in change today at McD's. The penny has unusual notches front and back around the perimeters. I find that these establishments in the poor neighberhoods have older coins in the register. They usually dont know enough about coins to know their collector value.

I never meant it as a race thing. I grew up as a kid collecting coins, stamps, rocks, and many other things.. I collected one of each date or one of each kind. We could fill a book from pocket change. Old coins were still in circulation. It was interesting. Now all the silver is being pulled out and hoarded. Even though there is an interesting variety of coin types, you rarely see an older coin in pocket change. But if you look hard enough, and know what to look for, collectible coins can occasionally be found. Treasure is where you find it.
