I decided last week that I was going to go into Halifax to hunt some of the old parks. I figured that there must be some history there still undug. Knowing that Canadian Cossack lived in Halifax I gave him a shout and he offered to join me. My original plan was to hunt the two big parks in Halifax/Dartmouth but CC and I got to talking and he suggested we go to a smaller park with some history which has seen little MD activity. Without going into the history of the park I must say it was quite productive. I got eight older coins in the span of a couple hours. I got three 1916 large cents, two British Half Pennys (1864 and 1918), one 1863 Indian Head Penny ( A tough find for this part of Canada), one 1816 Hardware token, one Victorian silver fishscale 5 cent, a couple buttons, an earing and a musketball.

It was a great hunt and I am sure that there are many more targets in this area. A slow methodical sweep will net more silver. Thanks again CC for taking me there...a morning well spent!

Great looking coins, Congrats!!!
Some of those look to be in great condition...
Continued Good luck, & Happy hunting~

Condition was in my favor. These were from a former residence as opposed to a field so there wasn't the hundred years of farming, irrigation and fertilization which tends to eat copper.

I call that super big smile day finding that many big coppers and even silver to boot! A 3 star hunt day for sure. Not bad shape either, Congratulations :)

Better than a kick in the teeth 8) Well done, again :)

Romeo, looks like a killer site you found . Should be more keepers there.

Very nice digs Romeo. Lots of great looking coins. The IH is a bonus - 1863 is a tougher year too. 8)

Dispite the Metal Detecting pressure - parks still are great places to hunt.
