Hey Gang, I found this buckle B.S. (before snow :laughing7:) in an area that has produced finds from Rev.War/Civil War up to V Nickels. It is 1" long, brass and is marked C . F . J . with the dots spaced apart. I found one almost identical to it in Howard Crouch's book, and he states: A typical suspender buckle of the Civil War era. Actually 1" long, this specimen is gilted brass and marked "Paris" and "1854."[ I haven't been able to find out any information on the CFJ company. All help and ideas would be appreciated. Breezie

Reply #45.....BigC....could you please either remove the eBay link, or use TinyURL. That long link is really making the page hard to read.

Thanks
LOL I think this thread is going to be a little hard to read now that 90% of it has been deleted LOL. ;D ;D ;D I guess you missed it. It was a once in a lifetime occurance that I will never forget LOL.

Yes I can try to shorten or remove it, but its odd that it looks fine on my screen and I have a small one. ??? :icon_scratch: :icon_scratch:

I've been following the thread from the get-go. Although no validation the item is defiantly "Civil War" related, it is plausible.
But definitely not a spy related parachute drop. lol.

I removed it, but it was a normal eBay posting not the cache types that usually cause a problem.

Thanks...the page has returned to its normal size on my browser
Its odd that your browser cannot properly read an eBay link. I have trouble with the larger cache types.

I tried to find some of the strange SOLIDE sister posts from earlier today but they have been removed and thats best.
