Hey all,
I recently found out about an old Civil War hospital site back in the woods near my town. It's now just a pile of bricks, but I found LOTS of glass and some iron, and possibly a button. I asked a metal detectorist friend once what the white porcelain fragments are and he said "a good sign"... (I find them all over my town). Anyway, I was hoping to ID the metal piece, figure out what the button (or bottle top) is, and then maybe get some info on these three white pieces of glass... the third piece on the right-most side is the usual white porcelain I find everywhere but it has gilding on it. Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks! <3

I have found pieces very similar to those in your picture on the lower right.

I usually identify them as "rusty iron".

I would guess the object in the upper right pic, is part of a two piece coat button.

Some of the glass looks pretty old.

Haha, OWK, I know it's rusty iron, it just looked interesting. We were thinking maybe pieces of a fence, but it could have been some kinda tool?
Tedyoh, they're small bottles of acrylic paint ;)
But alas, here's another pic of the button...
