Clear wrapped roll question

Ok. I've been doing dimes for a bit. Today was the first time I've ever got clear rolls. Just a quick look over them I don't see silver but I've found some in normal paper rolls that the edges are so dark you can't tell.

Should I break open all the rolls to make sure or just trust what I can see by the edges?


Just looking to see what others do with his type of roll.

If I see a dark one, I break open the roll. Anything that isnt obviously clad gets broken open. If I happen to miss 1 silver I will take the hit and make up for it with the saved time and increased volume of being able to do clear rolls....

Depends on how your dump bank wants to exchange coins. some prefer loose and some prefer rolled just ask to be certain.

You can carefully bend the clear rolls and the coins will pop right out, then just slide them back in after looking at what you wanted to.

+ 1. Make sure to have plenty of light. I casually will do a box at the beach and it is the perfect light. No need to post the cigar tube picture, but those who have seen it know of the success that I've had. When it comes to dimes, I only hunt the clear wraps.

Easier to dump while wrapped. No chance of being shorted by a machine. JMO

My banks will just break open the rolls to verify the count. I just bag it, they dump it in their machine, they count it and give me cash. Easier for me than wrapping hundreds of rolls a day. Ill stand to lose 20 cents in the count to not have to wrap 200-300 rolls a day.

I loupe scan them any questionable ones I jiggle them out

I would open them up. Had the same situation weeks ago and found 3 dark rim Rosie's. Would have missed them if I only looked at edges.
