I usually don't post about anything like this but its about time. The drama on here has gone far enough. I don't have a problem with any one here. The fact is its starting to get like a soap opera. We are here to enjoy out hobby, learn from others, teach the beginners and show off our finds. Besides that I think we all would appreciate keeping the rest of the opinions to private messages. Sorry if I'm out of line posting my thoughts. Ben

Thats why i don't visit the forums i used to frequent, I have noticed these past few weeks people have been feisty around here though. I came here to escape that, and grow my dreams of being a treasure hunter. Oh well this is still my favorite forum.

Always seems to be the usual suspects as well. When their drama spills into other members threads which causes a lock it is very disrespectful imo.

Argue on PM, that's what it's for. I don't think anyone wants to read all that drama, I know I don't.

Ben you have and always will know my stance regarding forum etiquette. Apparently people love to pull strings and since all my attacks were defensive we know where the problem is. Shoot try and give a man his wish of seeing all his artifacts he has given and look how that turned out. Only after you posted pictures of yours did he post pics.....

If a member or post is attack hit the report icon on the left, a black trangle, please DO NOT respond in kind, when a member responds to an attack with an attack it then gives the mod 2 or people to have to deal with.... Report the attack and then let a mod take care of it.....

PLEASE remember we do not live on these boards, if a mod does not repond right away it only means we have not seen the report yet....There are 5 mods, and we are all on here at different times of the day, but doesn't mean there is a mod 24/7...

If a members post is bothering you and we have not responded yet then put them on ignore till we do......

TreasureNet has rules, we do enforce them but our rules may not be the same as rules on other sites, that is okay I don't worry about other sites, I only worry about TN....Some sites may allow attacks on a member or their post, we do not... Calling a member a "troll" is an insult and violates our rules, only a mod or admin can make that call and if we think someone is trolling for a reaction we will take care of it.....

I would like to say a few things in response to bsit's thread. I have been on several forums over the years and have enjoyed them all for the most part. However, this forum has had, lately, so much drama, misinformation, and generally hateful comments that is time for me to leave. Steve Larson seems to be a real gentleman and a very generous person and I cannot understand the comments on the post by GTP. There is a clique here that is running folks away faster than anyone can imagine and I do not want to be a part of it. I am PM'ing Tnmountain to cancel my account. After that I will log off and not respond to any comments so have your fun.

Exactly...don't leave illiniguy..... I apologize to you and the many great members. It is a shame when someone tries and help and they are attacked! Why because they do not agree. Not how it is suppose to be but lately that is all it is. I remember a better time on this forum. It was about just under a yr ago.

If members follow our rules there will not be an issue, if someone violates our rules report the post, give the mods time to respond, do not respond in kind, it only adds fuel to the fire, it does nothing to help resolve the issue, all it does is give more than one person for the mod to deal with.......

If a member tries to help and someone attacks him, then report it and back off...A moderator will take care of the problem when we see the report....... All mods have jobs, I 'm at work on average 10-12 hours a day including drive time, I have a wife and a real life to deal with as do other moderators..... We have several hundred forums here, I read on average a couple hundred posts a day, it takes TIME..........

I do! Somehow a very distorted image of me is being painted here.
The enjoyment here I get from helping new members sharing my finds and thoughts ... and sharing all of your adventures seems to be taking a beating.
I'm just a laid back country boy.. I work construction during the day and pursue my hobbies and passions with whatever time I can.
I've been called some pretty vile and disrespectful things here during the past week... any one of which could have implications on its own according to treasurenet rules.
Here again this evening the bashing continues. This just is not enjoyable.

I stopped coming here for a couple weeks because of the exact same reasons. I want to post here, I want to enjoy the forum, I want to learn more about this hobby but there is just so much childish behavior that I think I need to maybe take some more time off. This is not to say that I haven't learned stuff and that some people here aren't great, it just seems like there are some people who think they own the place and are downright rude and I don't need them in my life.

Yup I agree....later all I'm done with these childish antics. I do not handle that stuff well as you can tell. This site is to post and offer help to those who ask it. I've noticed nothing but attacks towards me and any other who disagree with a few people. I'll make this easy. Yes after 4yrs offering knowledge and experience to those that do not have it well I'm done. This site was enjoyable and very fun to be on.....not know more. I do not know how to handle childish attacks. Yes my words to semper were direct but honest and what was given in return was BS. No where in my post to him the other day did it warrant that type of reply. It really is a different forum with some of these new members. Take it easy everyone I tried to help where I could. I know certain members know that.... I will miss this site but not certain people who killed it. Happy hunting all.....
