Coinstar Finds

Hey guys, I think this thread was just for Sag. He says it's a log of HIS finds on the first post.

Does anyone know the brand of machine that is used by banks? My credit union has one but it's mostly tucked in the wall and I wasn't really looking for any logos. I made 6 cents of clad out of the reject tray yesterday. Eager to finish off these dimes I just got(seems to be a skunk box) then I can go dump again and check the tray for more goodies.

There are many different brands of machines, not one kind.

Cummins, Brandt, Rail Machines, scan coin, take a picture of the coin machine dawg and i'll ID it just for you.

I keep finding scratch offs on top of the coinstars. In my state we have this thing called million dollar replay. These people just keep giving me chances to win money. I'm cool with that.

Found a 2009 Bahamian penny. Also a 1983 penny. Why would that be in the reject bin?

Sometimes, some coins accidentally go into the reject bin, if you put them in again it should work.

I don't really care if other people use it. It is my log, but just like my ground finds log, I can share it with others. I have not had much time now, and barely visit this section nowadays.

Just a couple of my coin star finds this year..

A 925 ring
A 925 heart, (it's got some weight to it) about quarter sized..
And a steel cent (from a couple days ago)

Here where I live, the banks don't use coin counters.. So all of my coin star finds are from grocery stores..

My latest grocery store coin star finds. Not worth anything but fun all the same :-)

How the heck does jewelry get into the reject slot? Or is that from underneath the machine? That's amazing!

People's jewelry may fall off accidentally while dumping the coins.

After months of checking I finally managed to find something besides a few errant clad coins. I pulled a 1957 100 franc coin...I'm assuming it is from France. It isn't silver, but, still cool.

I actually know a few people that service these Coinstar machines and any coins that don't make it into the main change bins gets saved in a little jar that stays in the machine and when they service the machine they have to seal those coins in a bag and Coinstar gets them. I also have found numerous silvers/foreign in and around these machines.

Found this morning in reject bin while dumping halves.
