I can't get over how lucky we are to be digging on December 28th…the latest I've ever detected… Managed to get out with hunthicks and another local detectorist at a few new sites.. a couple of flat buttons at the first site with a 1812 token taken out and a couple of buttons but it was recently tilled and will wait until Spring until it's raked, another new Colonial site gave up a silver spoon but hard to get makers mark off it with cell phone camera and also this neat button… Went to the site we went last week and only pulled out a few musket balls with hunthicks finding the best find there… then went back to the site where I found my spanish silver not long ago and managed this more modern military button and just before dark, again I pull out this cannonball, hunthicks must be thinking I'm planting these suckers…this is my 5th one this Fall, all from different sites…other finds include the usual flat buttons, musket balls, crotal bell, 1913 silver 5 cents, rosettes and buckles and below the silver plated buckle is another piece of silver that must be off some buckle...

Yes, the British General Service Button is post-1902, so maybe WWI related?
