They say lightning does not strike you twice but it hit me again yesterday. Keith and I were digging in an area we had found numerous spectacle buckles, a Spanish cob and other colonial items when I hit another find of a lifetime! It is called a posey ring and was very popular in the colonial times. Usually given as a gift with an inscription (or short poem) written on the inside for the recipient. In this case the inscription says "MYNE EVER THINE". Bill Dancy let me know it is on page 216 in his book ""Discovering Virginia's Colonial Artifacts". Thanks Bill! I also found a trime, indian heads and other awesome relics. Who thinks I should have a professional jeweler straighten it? Here is a link to the video

Banner find for sure :hello2: urmgolf (no longer a member) found one a couple of years back, he contacted me and asked if I knew of a buyer in the UK, which I did. he successfully sold the ring to the collector, he got a lot of $$$$ for it...Great find.:icon_thumleft:

I would absolutely straighten out both of them. One ring I found about 10 days ago, I lose track of time, It's at the jewelers and is being repaired. They look much better fixed.

Do it! Do it! Do it!! It will make a beautiful keepsake!! Congratulations. I also vote for a banner!!

Super find's! If they were mine, they both would be straightened. They sure didn't go into the ground all mashed!!

Had my squashed Roman Childs Ring straightened.

That is a really sweet find, congrats.

And it'll look awesome next to the eagle ring. That's just crazy that you have found two colonial gold rings.

You ought to buy lottery tickets brother!

Unbelievable, this ring and your other finds are amazing! Congratulations:notworthy:

If that were my gold ring there's no doubt that I would have it repaired. That sir, is an outstand find! Here comes you another banner vote headed your way - Good luck!

Astonishing find! Congratulations! Banner!

That's a bucket lister! Congrats!

WoooooooW!!! Can't beat that!

You get to leave with a pocket full of posey lol Great post Thank

Congrats on the Posey ring, a beautiful find. It would be an easy one to straighten on a mandrel.

I would not be surprised if that ring is older than 18th century. Such a cool find. Definitely have it fixed. Your other one too!

Nice ring! That's a super easy fix, and one you could do yourself if you have a ring mandrel as I've done it myself on high KT rings and they come out great.

Cal
