Construction Site Is One of The Best Places I've Ever Hunted!!

In my 30 years of metal detecting I've never quite found a place like this! I made my 6th trip to the "Field of Dreams" and scored big time again! The first thing I noticed on arriving was the huge area where fresh dirt was spread out from bulldozers. The area I had worked and cleaned out the the last 5 trips had new dirt put on top. The dirt was light & fluffy, you could literally dig a 8 inch hole in 3 seconds! Wheaties and Indian Head Pennies were coming up, a gorgeous Barber Dime dated 1912-S comes up.Wheat Pennies were numerous, I dug 26! Dug two sterling silver rings, a silver Chinese "Thingy", and another Barber Dime, this one was a 1912-S! Near the second
Barber Dime were two silver quarters, a 41-S & a 42-S! A 1926 Buffalo Nickel and 2 Indian Head pennies dated 1890 & 1899 were found in the same area. Total coins were 179! Also dug up 3 silver Roosevelt Dimes & eyeballed some more marbles! I still have more ground to cover on my next trip, these construction crews are still moving around dirt! I'll be back!

Totals from site after 6 hunts:!!
101 wheat Pennies
5 Indian Head Pennies, 1907, 1881, 1904, 1890, 1899
4 Silver War Nickels
3 Buffalo Nickels
9 Silver Roosevelt Dimes
10 Mercury Dimes
3 Barber Dimes, 1906-P, 1911-S, 1912-S
4 Silver Quarters, 42-S, 42-S, 41-S, 48-S
1 Walking Liberty Half, 1945-D
4 Sterling Rings
1 Sterling Silver Thimble
2 Sterling Silver Medals
7 Tokens
Clad: A little over $60.00!

Great to see that you decided to take another crack at the site as you had mentioned the distance and it might be hunted out was a concern. Congrats on the recoveries it really is a producer and may you be able to get a few more return hunts in before the end.

Very well done. Congrats on all of the nice finds. The Barber dimes are really sweet.

Incredible! Congratz!

Glad to see that you had an awesome hunts! Construction sites can really pay-off.

What kind of site is it? Road tear out? Commercial new construction? Commercial or residential remodel?
Are they moving previously ungraded soil?

Actually I'm a little hesitant to describe any details. They are at least 100 serious metal detector guys in the bay area who would be at this site in a heart beat!

That is a hell of a lot of great finds- Congrats!!
