Found this 15 minutes ago in central Wisconsin. Still shaking in my boots. Is this the real deal? I did hit it with my shovel chasing a quarter signal.. How do I prevent it from flaking apart? For now it's in a zipper bag till I get home later today. I hope this is real. Always wanted to find a Copper spear.

Awesome, I nominate for banner (can't find the button, do they still do this?)

Yes, a "like" on the opening post of a thread is a banner vote, works the same on "today's finds", ship wreak, artifact forums, beaches and shallow water and any forums under the Treasure Hunting forums.

I'll have to say research is a rewarding part of this hobby. I found this map of the distribution of copper artifacts found in Wisconsin. I will say that this spearhead was found somewhere in the highlighted green area but that's all the clues you get.

PS. And no that isn't the snow forecast for tomorrow in May..🤣

I didn't save a picture copy of similar from Northern lower Mi. (?) encountered on an internet search days ago. Others have shown the sawtooth base example(s).
Certainly plenty of copper in the area and during it's hayday era of copper usage culture.

Congrats on recovering one heck of a relic!
I don't recall seeing such a design amid copper culture artifacts before.

(l.o.l. at myself.)

that is a find of a lifetime for anyone. Yes it is most certainly a banner find for this or any forum.

The 2 threads were merged since it made banner, can't banner both since they are the same.
Makes sense to me. Thank you Treasure_Hunter for all you do for the members here. Much appreciated.
