I am sorry to say you are quite wrong. My mother has a gold bridge. Here is a excerpt from a website about dental bridges....The bridge pictured I would say is def gold.

"The bridges are made of various materials that include porcelain, porcelain combined with other precious metal and gold. Gold bridges perform like other types and even better. They are very sturdy and expensive too. Another thing about gold crowns is that when they become old you can sell them to gold refiners for a price. The greatest advantage of using the bridges is that they can bring back your smile and help you to eat your food properly. Take proper care so that your artificial dentures last long without any problem."

There isnt a way that gold will hold teeth in that configuration.

better check on that!

I have one myself, and know a lot of people my age that have bridges.

Take the bridge to a dentist, if ya want. or, bend it a little. gold is quite malleable. Most are stainless, and the teeth will start popping off when and if you do....

Experience is a good thing!!!!

olroy, I had an 8 tooth gold fixed bridge that cost over $5000 back in the 80's. It didn't last 2 years until I broke it. The dentist said that mine was only the second one he had seen break. He told me that my jaws were stronger than most folks and that anything he put in my mouth I would tear up in time. He replaced the bridge with a removable one made out of stainless. I only had to pay for his cost of the replacement bridge and no labor on his part.

I've done dental lab work, and yes, that denture could be gold. Usually the older the denture or bridge work, the higher the gold content in the alloy. I've seen 24K gold dentures.... HH M

Dental Gold, congratulations, looks to be fairly high karat too :icon_thumleft:

Dental metals are alloyed to be able to take the stress of chewing, whether it be for bridges or crowns. Usually it is 16 karat although could be 18k with different metals designed for maximum strength.

Nice and unusual find!

Certainly looks like gold. Got my fingers crossed for you!
