Lol! No worries patcat ...the first few release days are worrisome, but I have become used to it..
Penelope is a non releasable due to some limitations. .in the wild they live around 6 months..owls favorite food: (
She will soon be 3 years and enjoys her outside enclosure..gets a big tray if food each evening, they eat a lot. .kale and raspberries are her favorite. .

Saturday, driving over to the library, I see four birds doing the circle bit...vultures..no big deal....then I notice the two large birds are involved in a dance with the two smaller birds...ok...hawks being herded away?
now...still driving down the road, I see the buzzards have white tails....no way....pull directly out of traffic and jump out of the truck...
here are two bald eagles, and chicklets( less than a year old), doing this lazy circle while moving south along the river over cottonwood...
since I live about four air miles from an eagle nesting site along the verde river...not so strange...but the whole family? wicked beautiful...
now the actions of other cottonwood residents was the most notable portion of this event...
people driving by...I am clear of traffic, keep yelling how stupid I am to be standing there arm up blocking the sun, while I stare into the sky...
I sure rather be stupid then miss an event like that...stood there 25 minutes while the adults taught the youngin's how to catch chihuahua and kitties...
