Hey Ido have a question for all of my great north friends that puzzles me---- when the snow melts, where does all that white go? I mean what happens to the white? Some questions man may never be able to answer another one-- if you are traveling at the speed of light......and turn your headlights on will they work?

2Gf, anhonest attempt at an answer to your question.......the white in ice or snow is the color of the frozen particles.....when they start o melt, and through a process of sublimation,(solid turning to gas), the ice particles disappear.......just a theory on my part.....just like an ice cube melting back to it's form of clear water....unless we are talking about jello shots!.........Gary

The "white" that is visible is the result of light spectrum either reflecting or refracting, I forget which.
When water freezes, it becomes crystalline.
The facets of these crystals affect the "color" that you see as any visible light source meets them.

Example:
If you hold a red light bulb up to snow, it will appear red.

If that answer isn't correct, I have no idea.....

I'll play along....

Light is a wave of energy.
When one travels the speed of light, this energy changes form, perhaps perceptually?
To total illumination or total darkness? I do not know.
And it also depends upon any species' ability to discern different patterns or forms of energy.

And as far as the permanent thing,
Well, it's all about marketing and psychology.

A good "salesman" could sell a telephone to a deaf mute.

The Ladies also must have a place to congregate, swap gossip and spend money to try to feel better about themselves.
Just as men go to the Barbershop.
(Told ya that psychology was involved...)

you need to free yourself from the terrestrial mindset. new speeds require new technology. Fact is in space lights are unnecessary.

On the way home from classes today, I stopped into the local "Dollar Store" to pick up some paper supplies, like more paper towels for the shelter,
when I heard a female voice from around the corner, half humming and half singing.
I immediately recognized the tune and broke from my shopping to meet the voice.

It was an older Black woman, barely 5 feet tall, and when our eyes met, I sang, "Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall, All you gotta do is call...."
Her smile made my day and we continued the duet until neither of us could remember a new refrain.



And,
When we both left that simple Georgia Dollar store, we both left feeling more enriched with humanity than could be recalled in some time.
