What is up Tnet:hello:

Got out to a couple of CT Cellar Holes that were just down the road from one another..
One of them was just a beat up depression in the ground..I do not think this site ever even made it to the 1800's..
Grabbed some goodies including,

KG copper
Large Colonial buckle chape with pointed fork ends..Only dug an iron full buckle similar..Maybe it was for a boot
dunno.gif

Nice Cloak button with design

And a Tombac button that was smooth as glass still..And a few other odds and ends..

Second site made it to the 1800's but still grabbed some goodies

Another Colonial chape.

Nice harness designed button

Suspender buckle with leather still in tact its amazing how that can still be there after all these years underground:icon_scratch:

Flatties etc etc..

Had a great day the Ticks are out in full force.

Im lovin CT lots of cellars.

Its all part of my "No find left behind" campaign in CT..

Good luck out there

That is a great looking site,.....great looking button also !!

Them sites are not esay to find back in the woods but can be very rewarding if you do...we got lotsa them around here..but not easily found.

Well done JB. You have some great looking old spots up there Dude!
-Doug-

That's how it is done! :)

Great finds, man.

Good your getting out Johnny B. Man we just got snow again last night, seems like therer is going to be no spring season at all here this year.

The buckle "guts" are a tad unusual or is that just my ignorance ?

Snow still around there Rick:-\

What a bummer...Its the perfect weather around here..Pack it up and take a trip down..

Great stuff!! Love the "thousand legger". Funny, you go down to CT to hunt. MA guys go to RI to hunt. I also always seem to think the grass is greener on the other side.

I love to see your posts JB with those pics of cellar hole sites in the woods. And you certainly did well with a bunch of early finds. BTW - I see you're using the same large coil I have for my F75. What are your thoughts on it? Are you getting much more depth than the stock coil?

I basically purchased it for more ground coverage.More or less the large penned in wall areas..It has made more finds for me on
pounded out spots of mine..I use it last after the stock and small coil has been exhausted..
Believe it or not Bill it actually brings out deep hidden signals in the iron around the cellar!!!
Must be great for your large fields..Just be ready for arm pump!!

A must have for sure..

What do the CT boys think about you encroaching? As long as you stay north of the Mason-Dixon, I'm cool. I don't want you cleanin' out our fields too with that manhole sized coil! :notworthy:

WTG JB! Love those finds!

Yep now's the time to get out before the summer heat & humidity set in!

Definitely keep an eye out for those ticks, seems this winter didn't kill them off as much as I thought it would.

HH,
Roger

awesome recoveries JB!Invade Massamachusetts!

Very impressive stuff! That's certainly a site I wouldn't leave until it's clean.

i'm glad you found that thing in pic #2. No one believes me that that ground has metal worms. Darn things keep giving me good signal and by the time the my plug is dug, they're gone. And so is the signal.

No we have proof! lol
