D.A.M. Blue bowl ?

I was given a D.A.M. Blue bowl. All I got were instructions and the blue bowl. Seems there is a copper/brass piece adapter with a little lever built into the bowl. Just wondering if someone can tell me how it connects to the water line?

Need a small piece of garden hose. But its best to be able to recirculate the water. Using a small tub and a sump pump or a small pump of that type. Bilge pump or such.

Using a bucket, sit the bowl atop and hook up to a hose with a control for water. Use a small recirc. pump. Make sure that you classify material down as far as possible before feeding the blue bowl. Spoon the material in, take your time. Run the water to the top but not over, that will take some adjusting. You'll figure it out after a while. Mine works great.

It's the old slip lock connector.
If you can't find the male end, see if it is threaded and remove as a last resort.
You can buy replacement at lowes for garden hose connector or barb tip.

Just remember use a piece of hose two or three foot long installed to the bowl first then the control valve. It has been said that with the valve screwed directly to the bowl will cause the flow pattern issues due to having to close off the valve to get the water level correct. With the valve away from the bowl gives the water flow entering the bowl has a chance to smooth out while not going through a D shape opening that you would get with the valve installed directly on the bowl. Yes thanks-----I want to set it up just about like yours, I like it. Just need to get a hose attached to the darn thing.

That is one of the originals as made by Heftys Pops. Look at the bottom and check ID # as they you can tell age. Remove that thang from the inlet and add at least a foot long hose with a control valve. Classify down to 25-50 minus dry as much faster. Fill to the brim for a great vortex(think toilet bowl) feed in "wet" across from inlet,up against the wall with a good sized serving spoon. Don't overload as watch the cone ,when sands surround slow down. I ALWAYS run mine outside to water trees,bushes and do NOT recirculate water as filth raises the specific gravity of the water and adios gold. The great tv series Yukon Gold just proved up a $60,000 loss due to trying to use dirty water which is insipid. Ya gotta water them plants anyhow. NEVER add any soap as bubbles float that righteous talcum powder right outta there. Interested in serial # as I have #114 from 1984 and still works as fine as the first day. John

Action, if you set up your Blue Bowl to operate in a recirculating system make sure you have lots of water to draw from. Here some up close photos. You will see I have a raised drain within the black pan. This keeps all the processed fine dirt contained and not flowing back into my barrels. From the time these photos were taken I have moved the pump from the table and installed a submergible pump in the right side barrel. This system works like a charm and not wasting water, as water out west is a premium. If you classify correctly all the crap that causes your water to get filthy are not present.

Jack if you can't remove the brass fitting You may need to epoxy a PVC hose barb to the brass fitting then attach a hose to the fitting as I mentioned earlier with a control valve away from the Blue Bowl. No need to risk breaking the bowl as the plastic may have become brittle.

JB Weld would be a better choice as it would bond to both the pvc and brass.

so far can't find anything to fit so I may have to turn a piece of 3/4" pvc down a little to fit and then epoxy/jb weld. Any other ideas?

I would use the largest PVC you can use and turn it down to fit as you said. Looks to me you have a good 1/8" to 3/16" around the opening into the bowl. Just turn the PVC down enough so you leave room for JB weld to attaché itself to the both the brass fitting and the PVC.

Your sure that brass fitting does not unscrew?
