Dad went and did a short hunt without me today. He done very well!
A very rare 1667 1/2 penny token, so rare the book has no price indication as none have been recorded sold & you won't find it on the internet.
Its a token of Francis Seagre of the Royal Oak Pub (1667) in Woburn, Buckinghamshire.
Plus most of a late 15th century purse bar, a new type for us with nice primitive zoomorphic heads.
A scrappy & bag seal.
UPDATED;
Email from a friend (researcher & keen collector, soon to publish a book);
Excellent find – it was Woburn in Beds in the 17th century (W107) – definitely rare.
The pub is still there.
I don’t have one – if he ever wants to part with it, happy to hear
