DeSoto's 1539 CAMP FOUND IN MARION COUNTY

Ashley White has discovered a campsite used by DeSoto in 1539 at Citra on Orange Lake.
Items found include coins,chainmail,beads,and domestic pig jawbones.

That's what archaeologists should be doing.

I wonder if it would have ever been found, if it wasn't on their own land? I doubt there would be any digging without grant money otherwise....
