"Diggers" TV show...

Now I'm starting to take it personal.

Just saw an article that proclaimed that they filmed an episode out in New Mexico on the Glorieta Unit of Pecos National Park.

One of my direct descendants fought there with Company B of the 7th Texas Mounted Volunteers under CPT Gustave Hoffman.

I'd give everything i own just to be able to do a volunteer dig at Glorieta/Pigeon's Ranch and help the NPS fill out their displays... It disappoints me that so many people don't even realize that the Civil War reached that far west, and now the biggest media exposure opportunity to do so goes to these two sissies?

Ugh.

It's funny timing, actually the misses and I are making the 11 hour drive here within the next month or so to see the newly dedicated Glorieta Battlefield Trail.

If I find evidence of ONE SINGLE HOLE not filled back in...! Haha

Its easy to hunt places like that when u got a tv channel tossin money around!

You are obviously assuming all sites are paid for which is not the case at least for Dig Wars.
The cast of DW researches many site locations and recommends them to the producers or lands permission of a site in advance to filming without payment.
The production company researches and does some of the sites on their own.
I hunt awesome sites just like on TV all the time because I do my research and am good at getting permission without paying any money-its really not that hard if you do the work…..

We all have opinions but some don’t always feel the need to voice them….
One of mine is that you, your hatred and your name calling towards people that you have never even met is far more annoying than the married couple or any of the shows except for the wrestler dude.
The guy from the married couple is a member in good standing on Tnet and has contributed more banner finds to this forum than almost anyone from USA yet you insult him and his wife along with others on a regular basis. How many banner finds have you contributed to this forum?
The guy you continue to refer to as a ‘clown’ and ‘idiot’ smokes your azz on banner finds and finds in general and so do I so in my opinion you appear to be extremely inferior, jealous and idiotic with your continued insults J
But….that’s just my opinion and I apologize in advance if its not accurate even though its pretty obvious I hit the nail on the head. J

I can understand the idea of wanting to make TV interesting and exciting, but these two turn me off. I just want to smack them silly whenever they speak. The idea of the show Is wonderful and entertaining all on its own, it doesn't need help from these two jokers who IMHO give treasure hunters a bad rap. I hope they read this thread, because I want to inform them, that nectar is found in flowers, not holes in the ground. BTW no one wants to hear your sick abbreviations like CIV. or roundness... Makes me want to barf.

I like Diggers myself. My kind of humor. I haven't been able to make it through a whole episode of Dig Fellas yet. I watch a little of it here and there. Trying to acclimate myself to it. I find that if I don't like a show......I turn the channel. Seems easy enough. )

I give them two fellas a lot of credit for creating a successful show about a hobby they are very much dedicated to. I don't mind their goofing around, they're just having some fun and trying to make it a little more entertaining. I don't think harsh, personal jabs are needed. The guys on the other show are a bit over the top for me, but if others like it, that's okay. I'll probably watch it too, but may turn the volume down a bit.

Let's try to be nice.

Well good for him, but some people dnt have time to hunt all the timebc of work and family. I also feel I dnt need to post everything I find for an ego boost. I share my finds with my club I'm apart of. I could careless what a bunch od people over the net thinks od my finds. I will voice my opinion about these people that make them selfs look like idiots on tv. You act like a fool on national tv then you have to deal with the back lash and comments from people of the hobby there hurting.

If you don't know them and have never met the people on TV how do you know that its an act?

Why be rude about someone when you don't even know them?
I can talk poorly about those I have met and don't like but have a hard time doing it to someone I have never met.....

I took advantage of the opportunity presented by the thread to voice my opinion ( I believe that is the purpose of a forum). I didn't start the thread, but since it exists I felt as though my thoughts needed to be public. I really like the idea of the show, just not the way it is presented.

I just don't like insulting people or like those that do.
Some shows and people I really like, some I don't-but I always try and be respectful of others especially those that are active on the same forum I enjoy.

The simple word here is Respect. Seriously guys one of the main issues on this site are those that feel it their life's goal to bash others and it stems from either envy, stupidity, ignorance or just plain lack of morals and decency. There is no need to harass, call names, or berate someone for difference of opinion unless that person started something that was a gross misconduct and needs handling, for the most part that's not the case here.
You know what they say about opinions and buttholes. Aa far as Tim and George so what if they jump around etc they were doing that long before the show it was their shtick and its what got them noticed by the Baltimore, MD production company. So what if they do it its just them being them. Ask yourself this, have you once seen them do anything wrong as far as digging a hole and not taking care of it, have they stolen anything, have they jumped a fence onto restricted land..the answer is no they actually do have respect for OUR hobby bit they are goofy and pfft I am a comedian myself and I act up just for shiz and giggles so what. Bill Ladd has lost huge respect in my eyes by his techniques like swinging his shovel like a pick axe, digging to China type holes. He offers little in the way of showing on the show historical facts other than a little quip that im sure he's made to. Has he paid his dues to get a show, yes. Is he stepping up to show others how to properly metal detect, no. He comes off as someone after pirate treasure,looking for booty with his Igor sidekick howaaad. Bill has done a lot for our MD community and I thank and respect him for that,bit this show is not putting him in a good light and I know he has some say over how this show airs. As far as the other crap going on with the arguing, say you're sorry, hug it out or its to bed without supper and you can think about what you did.

I felt the same about the nectar boys until i seen the interview with them. It was cool they acknowledged they get to hunt in many places no one else is allowed.

It is just my opinion, but I think if you except the position of representing a specific group of the population, you should also except the responsibility for portraying the group in the most tasteful light possible. Say whatever you like and think whatever you want, but in our world where property belongs to others and permission needs to be obtained in order for us to pursue our passion, any negative press or questionable behavior reflects back on all of us. Fair or not, people form opinions based on the information available to them and lets face it, TV is easily available and certainly an influence. It really bothers me that these two don't care what image they portray on the rest of us.
