All of my half dollar veins are tapped out! I still pick up whatever loose and CWRs that I can find. I am finding 3-4 40%ers a month.

My new goal is 2-3 dime boxes a day, 6 days a week. Hopefully I will find 15-20 silver dimes a week.

So far:
Sunday
Box #1 - 2 FDRs
Box #2 - 3 FDRs
Monday
Box #1 skunk
Box #2 1 FDR
Tuesday
Box #1 4 FDRs and 1x1968 Canadian (50% Ag)
Box #2 1 FDR
Box #3 1 Merc (1944)
Wed
Box #1 skunk
Box #2 skunk
Thurs
Box #1 shunk
Box #2 2 FDRs
Box #3 shunk

Totals: 14 US silver dimes and one 50% Canadian dime

you are doing really well with dimes, and i would like to do alot more dimes, because i like the merc dimes, and its real easy to get boxes, but the problem seems to be dumping, the first time i did dimes, i rerolled, and that was a time consuming task, and i did 2 boxes this past friday, found 1 1960 rosi, and dumped it at in a coin counter and it counted 34 dimes as cents... may i ask what is your preferred method? i would really like to put more boxes of dimes in my hunt, but the dumping is not really worth it, thanks

I dump by coin counter.
Coin counters will count dimes as pennies if they aren't well maintained (cleaned).
Coins are dirty. It may take you some time to find a coin counter that is well maintained and reliable.
You may not find one in your area. I have found a few in my area. I typically lose 2-4 dimes per $1000 dumped.
Re-rolling isn't practical, thus large volume (>$500/week) of dimes isn't for everyone.

Fantastic finds man. How many Mercs have you found as of now? When I used to CRH avidly I would do almost solely Dimes, especially around the end of 2009 and into 2010. Always hit a lot of Silver with them. - CC

Dimes CWR $250: 1942 Merc, 1947, 1950, 1955D, 1964D

Totals for this amazing week ending 4/12/14
30 silver dimes (27 FDRs, 3 Mercs) from 4.7 boxes
2 90% silver halves
1 40% silver half

3.15 oz of silver for $4.60

30 silver dimes is my highest weekly yield this year so far.
4.7 boxes is my lowest number of boxes searched this year so far.
In other words, luck is better than volume.

Still looking for a 1940S to finish my wild 1940-5 Merc collection.

Looks like more good boxes. Good luck with the '40S. Btw, I was just posting on Dozer D's thread about a teller at one of my dump banks telling me today about an incredible loaded dime box she had recently. She said she kept $20fv of silver for herself and sold the rest of the box to the security guard there and he found almost as much silver from the rest of the box himself. If they're telling me the truth that was one heck of a loaded dime box. Just wish I could of been the one that bought the rest of that box from her lol. Oh, its kinda wild thinking about the great scores like that, esp from a sealed box. Just never know with this hobby. :)
