My two amazing finds for the week....LOL
I cant seem to hunt anywhere without finding a horseshoe...my collection is growing!
This is the tiniest one I have found to date...2 x 3 inches.
My big find was the 8 pointer found up in the Ozarks .....I was a happy hunter!

By putting regular bleach in water and boiling it will not do much.(you can try it though,Drano also works)Do not submerge any part of the antlers though as they will crack. When we "bleach",skulls,we use concentrated hydrogen peroxide, nasty stuff, but it turns the skull a bright white....I have done hundreds of them.I wouldnt paint it either. Also no horse shoes only had three nail holes,I agree with heel plate

That's pretty cool. I like it, I had never thought about doing that with one! Thanks for posting the pic and thanks for letting me know! I was skull hunting this last Sunday while we were detecting, found bones (cow) but, no skulls!
I am really at a lost while I did a cull rack that way.I think I saw some displayed on a burgundy wall with girls in swimsuits,Lol. The silver leaf took forever. I have restored some clocks in gold leaf but it was successful. I have tons of horns and european mounts .I now just stack them all in a large pile unless they are worthy of a full mount. I have made some nice damascus knifes with some of the base. I remove the head and put it in a plastic bag and fill with water and place in 5 gallon bucket and place it way in the back of the yard(smell) Leave it for a couple of months then hold my breath and hose them off and place in sun.I tie them down due to wild animals. Ok I think that this was just too much information !!!!! Have fun and enjoy all your finds.

Nice finds, to me the shoe looks like an older blacksmith style. The two holes probably means something tho. You might try researching some of the farrier sites to see if you can dig up anything on those sizes or contact a local farrier and ask them some questions.

The horseshoe is from A Leprechauns tiny horse.
I know this because I have seen these on rare
occasions after binge drinking in the woods.
How else can these little guys get their pot of gold
around. :tard:

As said it is not a horse shoe

I read somewhere that Rudolph threw a shoe coming in for a landing a bit fast over the Ozarks in the late 1870's :D :tongue3:
