We certainly are!
But!
I would rather that EVERYTHING is in good working order
And!
That all personal business is taken care of before we leave!
After all,
We are going to be out for atleast a YeaR! :o
Probably for longer !
I have been out for as long as 14 Months !
AND!
With only one problem...
That was : The "Ignition Module" went out!
I now carry a spare module & spare regulator & spare spare tire
I have just put on
SIX! Brand NEW TIRES

After we do "Hit The Road"
We sure don't want any thing to go wrong :tard:
We'll have the TIME, the MONEY, the RESOURCES/Equipment
To stay out !
To go where we want !
To do as we want !
I wouldn't have or want to do it any other way !

well one things for sure, if you run out of reasources you usally end up with plenty of time.

Where at in Utah ya'll going? The snow has melted from the Salt Lake valley, but the Uintas are still socked in in the upper elevations, above 7000 feet. Most high lakes still are frozen over, so needless to say the going is rough there. Southern Utah is just fine, I understand.... but I am in the northern part near Ogden.

To tell the truth, we're not all that familar with Utah's Treasures
I know of only two
While,
We have plenty of researched sites to search out in the NM/Az/Nv/Ca area
So!
I really can't say

Any updates on departure.
Soom as the rain clears out of s. Utah and it warms up I'm going to try panning a couple creeks coming off the North side of Abaho peak. HH

Me'n Doc have been having one heck of a time getting this trip on the road! :tard:

The "happenings", that have been "popping" up & slow'n us down, looks like they're over ???? ::)

That, Looks pretty good/solid, so far! :-\
ALSO!
It, Should have cooled off a bit by then too!
& That'll give me time to get my Jeep back togather
I've Got engine & front end parts all over the place !
AND!
I got's 6 ! BRAND New HD, OTR tires ! :tongue3:
(We are planning for a 12+ month long trip)
But!
It should run like a scalded arse APE! :thumbsup:
& Hopefully, get a little better that it's usual 10-11 MPG ! :-\

Cptbil, sorry about not answering your question sooner. Due to a late life career change I have not been on the Net for a spell. I will not be able to make the beginning of your trip. IF time permits, I will try to join up at a later date. Wish you guy the best of luck and try to stay safe out there.

Hello All

Well after all the personal,legal,equiptment,and mother nature issues out of the way,were finally going to be off around Oct 1.Getting this going has been a real "Mother" to say the least.I myself am going to stay out as long as possible.Bill and I have alot of ground and leads to cover.

I usually buy the ('06) ammo. in lots of 500 !
Except for the .45 !

I reload for '06, 6.5x257 Ackley Imp. .44, .45 and . 44 mag (pistol & rifle), as well as .243
Except for the 12 guage Magnum
That, ammo I buy from Academy Sporting Goods ...
They sell it almost as cheap as I can reload it !
BUT!
Hay!, I can relaod the '06 to right at 4100 fps ! :o

It's a Charter Arms, 5 shot, .44 spl, loaded w/240 gr JHP, up to 1200 fps !
(That places it in the "magnum class")
With a pair of, necessary?, "Pac." Rubber Grips!
I use it because, empty, it weighs in @ 19 oz !
I have two of them !
That one, is a "Blued Steel" , w/a 3" barrel
The other gun is a "Stainless Steel" "Bull Dog", w/a 2 1/2" Barrel
They really are a nice easy, smooth, shoot'n hand gun!
AND!
As you might guess ---
That, 240gr JHP ! Will stop about stop about anything :tongue3:
Short of a charge'n "Grizz"
&
With ONE ! good solid hit, at that!
I also carry/have a Win. Trapper, in 44 mag that is loaded for BEAR!
It shoots a 300! gr JHP, doing, @ 2400 fps !
AND!
It'll let you know, When that! bullet, clears the barrel !! :tard:

Do you mean, right now, at this moment ?
If so, I just came in from outside, feeding the burros, dogs, cats, cows, etc
I have to go back out and turn off the water at the "well", in the lower pasture
I got a leak in the line, in front of the house
THEN!
I HAVE TO GO OUT
AND !
SHOOT MY OLD DOG! :'(

He's dying of old age and suffering badly!

He's had a good life ! :)
Been out with me on a couple of long trips !
He's Had it pretty easy around the place when at home !
I just now buried him under a large tree, down in the back pasture!

You'll be sleeping in Paradise from now on! :'(
