Does Anyone Deepfry?

for deep fried oreo's and candy, all you gotta use is pancake batter , dip cookie in ,drop carefully into oil when it floats its done ,drain on paper towel sprinkle with powered sugar. sooo. good

When I fry my catfish,walleye,and crappie filets I use pancake batter. the kind where you just add water to it. I add some season salt ( add it to everything ).

I like the sound of the sweet batter. I would prefer a light fluffy coating as to one that uses salt and pepper type spices.
But, I guess it really depends on WHAT you're deepfrying as to which batter you would use!

I'll have to do some 'spearamentin'.

...and if you do want to spice it up a bit substitute Durkee hot sauce for soem or all of the beer or water in the batter. Great for sliced chicken breasts or any type of fish...although I got to say I'm a catfish fan!!
