I hear of an old timer that tected a fruit jar chuck full of Injun cents out of a lawn next to a big old tree in the yard of an older house here in town back in the eighties. That is a heck of a haul. Metal tectin gossip is kinda boring. I personally know of a gentleman that was up in the fascia of an old house, replacing rotting wood, and discovered a leather satchel full of pre-civil war silver. That's awesome. I also know of friend, at a certain place that was being remodeled, he tore out the wall, over a thousand EARLY 1800's silver coins spilled forth.
Another treasure gossip I have heard, they were tearing out the exterior wooden staircase leading up to the second and third floors of an old building in a town in the Adirondacks, they discovered a leather bag full of $50 GOLD SLUGS, I swear that is the rumor I heard. I swear it. Ahhh, such is gossip....

This is a true story my good tectin bud from Rochester his cousin was having some work done on the house the contractor dude spied a lamp on the table in the living room and says "I like that lamp, I'll give you a thousand bucks for it".... the homeowner graciously declined the offer, got the frikin thing appraised and sold it for 35,000 beans. After re-reading my reply, I decided it might be a bit out of bounds and perhaps a bit off key for Tnet and such a good sport as yourself, so I removed it. Now, I am concentrating my energies on writing more treasure hunting gossip stories and other treasure war stories, and I am working part time on finding some good tecting spots. Now if you keep it up, I will be forced to send you to my room. And there will be no more McDonalds.
