Don't care what you say, I didn't want silver anyway!

Today looks like it was my last day out so I have gone the entire year without a single silver coin. Anyone want to buy an Explorer SE? :tongue3:

But we did find a new site and had a fun day. Misc Relics, 1812 halfpenny token, Halifax token, 1710-1713 French Deniers, and two TLV British military buttons.

There is a very similar button on the data base of early British Military Buttons with TLV, 1794-1812 Taunton Volunteer, but the TLV is not with in a shield :dontknow: Taunton Vols served as part of the larger Somerset unit.

Would guess not the same unit, but certainly something similar I would imagine. All 8 we found were small size too, so I'm thinking there's a very good chance they were never made bigger. If I don't find out now, this Winter I will put some effort into ID'ing them.

The first or 2nd week of Dec. has been the shut down time for the vast majority of the 14 years we have hunted.... so it's the norm. Sure would be nice to have one last shot at that silver can though! If you guys can hunt Sunday I think we may have a shot on Wed..
You read my mind, let's book it for Wednesday or Thursday next week

that's the ole boys I used to know…the fighting spirit...

yeah I was thinking you found one. Was it the site where the guy gave us a ride in the back of his truck? That makes 8 from here, never seen one found in the UK. Strange how it can work.

Yep...that's the spot!

That's what makes the most sense to me too. This is my 4th and 5th, Ironhorse has dug two, and I've never seen one found in the UK.... but it would be very unlikely it is from anywhere else.

Your reading it backwards, it's a VLT (video lottery token) J.K. of course, the french is a great find IMO.

Yes, damn impressive if I say so myself, but to diminish things a little, and no doubt disappoint my very small following of hunters who can't find a silver coin, I must say I could have quite easily dug one had I made a trip to one of the many old parks in my area.... but that's just something I am not interested in.

Silver is tough in old places (sites), in fact the silver "we" as a whole always seem to expect to be there (as seen in many posts) is often not the case, it's not deeper, it's just not there. They either did not have it to loose, or were very carefull with it (their money).

I was lucky enough to get more than one silver this year, but it was hard won, no clad in the mix.

Not a bad way to end the season:icon_thumleft:

We still have a few weeks at least down here..Just thought i would drop in...
Seeing you been playing nice:laughing7:

All good Blaze, I don't hold grudges without a good reason, no matter how bad you act. ;) (Truth is it entertains me)
