Pulled a 180x over the weekend. Wish I could see the last digit.

I hate old coppers- they are never display worthy for me.

Well PD, may I suggest you gather up all your old coppers and toss them back where the came from. I suspect most detectorists don't hate them as much as you do.:laughing7:

Soak it in cold peroxide for a couple hours. Then dip it in baking soda while still wet and rub it between your thumb and fingers. Rinse and repeat as necessary.

Nice looking DBLC- appears that a light cleaning might bring out a lot of detail..

I have an 180x Draped Bust Half Cent that is causing me no trouble at all...
Of course I would have liked to have met it when it first left the U.S. Mint. :laughing7:

I too have a love-hate feeling toward coppers. I get so excited to see one in the hole, but am almost always letdown, as they are usually blank or barely identifiable. I see so many nice ones posted here, but never find one for my pouch. At least yours is clearly identifiable. Nice find in my book. Congrats!

Not all of us Bologna :laughing7: I love all my coppers. I have a few DBs and Matrons that look like they were minted yesterday and on the other end of the scale an even bigger pile of unidentifiable ones. But they all have personality. That's why I like digging them in any condition.

I have an uncanny ability to dig run of the mill coppers like KGII’s, braided hair etc in great shape, but all the hard to find coppers come up looking like pooo, identifiable but ugly
