Nice Drills Bent-Twig.

That pinkish colored one would have been a killer. Shame the tip is missing.

Thanks for showing those to us.

Excellent variety of materials/types Twig, I do favour the black drill, top pic, centre. Very nice. Thanx for showing us.

Molly.

Re: Drills.........let's see them

I have a question. Why do some of the drills have the ends that look the same as regular arrow/spear heads what would be the point of this configuration? Are they arrowheads or spearheads re-made into drills?

The reason for that is that a lot of Drills were made from Points that had been resharpened to the point of almost complete exhaustion and the only step left is a Drill. After some of the Knifes and Points got to the point that it couldn't be resharpened anymore then they would turn them into Drills. Some Drills were purposefully made as Drills, but I'd say the majority are made from exhausted Blades and Points.

Also, some of the long, slender what we call Pin Drills weren't actually Drills at all and were more than likely Hair Pins.

This is also the same way we get Hafted Scrapers, except I'd guess they were made from points that had broken and then were rechipped to become a Hafted Scraper.
