That's a beauty! Love that hot peroxide bath. Learned about it on this forum and have gone through 3 bottles in two weeks! Keep on digging!

Dated 1830 but probably dates with your wheats. It cleaned up well.

This is from the front yard at Groton Heights school built in 1900 + or - a few years...

The monument to the Battle @ Groton Heights is 20 feet to the right of the school next to Ft Griswold... Our battle from the American Revolution...

I've pulled one Indian Head 1899 from the yard... 1/2 dozen wheats and one 925 sterling ring... the School is closed and slated for Demo...

Your religious medal signifies the Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, which is a chapel in Paris, revered by Catholics as the site of three apparitions of the Virgin Mary in 1830.

It's a common medal; still made today, but the 1830 date excites you til you know exactly what it stands for.

The peroxide did a good job.

Dan,

Thank you for the clarity on the Metal... yeah I was a little excited by the 1830 date...

Nice find by any accounts.

yeh those 1830 marked "miracle" medals will get the non catholics folks hearts going fast - still a cool find many moderns ones are silver plated -- then older ones are often sterling silver
