Re: minelab explorer question!
Hello Stasys!!
The stock SE is lighter than the Exp. II. The lower shaft is lighter on the SE (carbon), and I think that's the big difference. I swung a stock Exp. II before, and it just feels heavier on the bottom than my SE does. Bottom weight on a detector transfers into a much heavier machine when swinging it for a few hours.
As far as faster processor....yes, the SE has a faster processor than the Exp. II does. The E-Trac has a faster processor than the SE does. Thus, recovery speeds are slightly faster on the SE than on the Exp. II. The faster processor also makes selection of the menus much speedier. Even with the faster processors on the SE and E-Tracs, you still have to swing all the Minelabs fairly slowly in trash to find the deeper targets. The E-Trac will have a slight advantage in trash over the other Explorers by allowing you to hear good targets next to trash easier (which is why the E-Trac will benefit users that had little or no time using an Explorer before), but if you have a lot of time detecting with an Explorer, there's not much of an advantage.....if you hunt slow enough, you can hear and understand those deep/diggable faint whispers amongst the trash with all of the Explorers.
