Detector(s) used
Minelab Equinox 800 Garrett AT Pro
Primary Interest:

I've noticed when I use the ML80 headphones wireless they seem to kill the battery on the detector very fast compared to having them plugged in. Is this normal or is there some trick I'm missing ?

Shouldn’t.
Are you cleaning the charged contacts on the magnetic charging post on the charge cable. They can and will collect fine magnetic shavings and will hinder the charging capabilities.
I use my WMO8 all the time. The WMO8 has absolutely nothing to do with the detector.
i charge mine every time I return from detecting and leave it on charge till I go again.
Are you charging your detectors until the green light says on solid.

I didn't have the problem with the 800 I had. I'd call Minelab.

I have never had this issue with my 800

Headphones should not affect detector battery life.

Huh ? Perhaps I'm not getting detector fully charged ? Or at least I didn't those times. I'll make sure it's fully charged and try again.

Thanks

Make sure the contacts are clean.

I do know that auto-tracking ground balance will deplete your battery life faster. Be certain that isn't the issue.

Never experienced increased battery drain with auto tracking.
