Equinox 800 include only gold or silver, rule out everything else

Hi,

I'm at the beach now. I have never used the discriminate feature before. I would like to pick up only gold or silver signals, and ignore all others. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

You need to pretty well everything above iron.

When you discriminate out everything but gold you are discriminating out most gold, any gold under 24k has other metals in them that you just discriminated out.

If you are at beach and want to find gold dig all non ferrous signals. Good news is Minelabs null on iron.

Pull tabs and aluminum have the same conductivity as gold, if you don't dig them you want dig gold...

You're going to have to dig everything above iron if you want to find gold and silver. Gold generally rings up mid-40's to mid-50's on my AT Pro and silver is usually 80 or higher. I could discriminate out everything that's not in that range, but it would be a bad idea.

A few months ago, I found a 14k gold Omega wristwatch at a ballfield. It rang up in the low 70's, due to all the copper gears and parts inside. Never would have found it if I was discriminating anything out. Bottom line, there's no surefire way to just dig gold and silver.

We would sell every detector we own...
We would stop anything we are currently doing immediately without hesitation and place an order for it online...
We would drive to tim-buck-two... just to buy one before everyone else...
And would need to carry a roll of paper towels... just to wipe the salivation drool off of us as we did any of the above...

There was / they invented and sold a detector that... "only found silver and gold". heh
