Equinox 900 - ideal beach settings

I got my Equinox 900. From your experience, what are the best beach settings to use when detecting:

• Dry sand
• Wet sand
• Underwater (salt wawater)

In terms of settings. I'm looking for:

• Sensitivity
• Threshold
• Target Tone
• Recovery speed
• Detect mode

I would like to ignore iron.

I am trying to find a PI detector that can go down past 20 ft.

Today, I didn't find anything of significance. Just a bunch of trash targets.

In the attached pic, I detected what appears to be an iron nail. Notice the orange rust on the nail and in the hole that I dug. Also notice how I have iron ignored.

How can my detector have detected iron when I have it ignored (horseshoe button)?

Are you saying under water 20 foot or detect 20 foot? (maybe on a buried submarine...lol) There is no metal detector that detects 20 foot, and even if there was how you going to recover target.

Between the two possibilities you outlined, you choose the one that is far more unlikely. Are you serious? I thought you would've been a lot smarter than that.

There have been many people that have asked for a machine that would detect a target 20 feet underground, so, TH's question was a valid one. We have no way of knowing your degree of detecting knowledge unless we ask. Judging by some of your questions, it appears you're more of a beginner than someone with years of experience, so, we assume nothing. If you're going to criticize us for asking questions while trying to help you, most of us will just ignore you.

Thank you. I downloaded the manual but as I read it, I still have many questions.

I have also found that if you go to Google AI and ask any question in your own words.it gives some great answers instantly sometimes it quotes the equinox manual.
