Down here with no open container laws I find enough of them that I've actually filled a 5 gallon bucket and taken them in for recycling.

I have dug every shape and style of pulltab over the years. What amazes me is digging beer cans that were opened with a key instead of a tab.

Im a water hunter - got tons of those old style ones - for me they are a good sign
1-no one found it before me (unless they threw it back) so I could be in an unhit spot
2 - I find those - I usually find silver and older gold

This is my favorite, because it says something about what we do when we pick-up the trash that people carelessly discarded! In my short time metal detecting, I have picked up quite a few shredded aluminum cans and even razor blades in areas that small children play. I feel like we provide a public service by removing these dangerous items before someone gets hurt by them.

That's a cooool tab 462...and I agree with u on the public service aspect...found lots of dangerous junk which I always remove...nails..razor blades etc. Wouldn't want my kids getting cut!

I always find bullets, shell casings, and axe heads at schools. Only one nail ever at a school. But I agree its best to clean these up! I like 462's tab

Holy crap ! You mean we are supposed to keep that kind of early pull tab I been doing everything wrong ? I have thrown hundreds of those into my aluminum box and turning them in just for scrap ! How much are they getting for them on EBay ? At least i usually find a silver Rosie when you get into a patch of that type MaineRelic

Jason, there's a rusting pile of these at one of my sites, whoever was drinking them even opened his pulltab cans with a churchkey.
