I left my detector at a house I was detecting one time. When I went to get it out of my car for another hunt it wasn't there! I thought it had been stolen! Just to be sure I called the last place I was detecting although I thought he surely would've called me & told me I left it. I called him & I left it outside. He had been out of town but the caretaker put it on the porch for me. That was probably the dumbest thing I've done detecting wise so far...
