Cool button. I had to look up chi rho meaning. Very interesting.

Neat find! Congrats!

Very nice, Congrats!

The Chi Rho, Christogram is a monogram constructed from the first two letters of Christ in Greek (ΧΡιστοs/Christos). I've seen the design on coins going back to Constantine, but never on a button.

Good info Don that's a cool find amazing some of the cool stuff posted on here

Hi Creskol,
Interesting button.
Any sign of BM?
Or shank type?
First time I saw the CHI RHO symbol was on a silver "Jesuits Ring" ca. 1800.
A flat button as your recovery appears to be, could be approximately same date range.
Congrats on the great finds lately!

Beautiful button find my friend!

Greetings Will.. Good to see ya!

Here is what the back of the button looks like. No backmarks that I can see, and the shank is missing.

Are my old eyes deceiving me or is your button two piece?
