I just looked at a post from a new member and it reminded me of this. I noticed this about a week ago. So for edits and giggles I thought I would post it. Kinda looks like the head and shoulders of a native man in full headdress. That is if you can see it... sort of like shapes in clouds.

He is

Well this isn't a point, actually I'm really not sure what it is.... But tell me if you see anything on this, it really gave me the creeps when I saw it. It seems to just be patina and completely random, but still don't let my guard down around it :laughing7:

The face is on the first two photos towards the right. The other photos are just to give you an idea of what it's on.

Man, I stared at this for a long time, all I could see was a face from one of the Muppet characters in the first pic.

Muppet, I'll take it. Photos didn't show up real well but it looks like a skeleton/skull in person. I showed it to the old lady without telling her and she said the same. Like I said, completely unintentional and all, just pretty neat. Any ideas on what the item may be? I was leaning towards a rough axe/pick or preform plummet maybe

...how awesome is that! Thanks for sharing it :)

I meant no disrespect STF, once I had that pic. in my head, I couldn't get past it.
Nice, interesting find, thanks for sharing it. You have some great artifacts shared with us.

I saw the skull on it before I read your response.

None taken! And I'm not sure NC looks maybe like a horse or a frog:laughing7:

Any input on what my muppet rock might be?

Or maybe a duck?

SouthTexas, I think you are correct. I thought it was a happy unicorn but it may be a horse.... Or a frog. Could be a muppet?? Lol! Your piece is cool, as is everyone's artifacts with faces. I felt left out. For those of you that really think I found this piece as shown here, I must tell the truth. I added the face. I'm not proud of my actions and I'm sorry if I fooled anyone into thinking I found the happiest arrowhead ever. Lol! Seriously, the coolest face in an artifact I have seen was found by a late and great T-net friend of mine. Kelly AKA Twitco had a scraper with a perfect spirit like face in it. It was visible when held to the light. Maybe Larson still has a picture of the Mandan spirit scraper that was found by his best friend. I'll PM him to find out.

I had my suspicion about yours NC, I just didn't have the nutting stones to call you out. Would love to get a look at the scraper. Whether any were actually made on purpose or not they are still unique. Though I have to admit when i posted mine all I could think about was the random Jesus sightings on pieces of toast etc.

Its a multi spurred graver

Awesome. I'm gonna have to check out more "flakes" for utilization. I'm sure I'm passing up more tools than I could shake a stick at. I suppose its better bringing more home to better inspect, and throwing it in the garden if its nothing than passing things up
