Everything since then has been purely for optics. In fact, the entire “show” put on by the Paradas, not the FBI, has been for optics. The fact this still makes the social media rounds is still purely for optics.

I had a geologist friend who used to make the big rock and mineral show circuit. When a young rockhound would ask him questions about a rock they found he would tell them to see if it stuck to their tongue. When they tried it and said no he’d tell them it was dinosaur poop.

Here in Arizona there is a similar gold bar story. In the Superstitions there is a story of a cave full of stacked gold bars. Makes no sense. Several times it was found and lost again. A bar would show up then disappear. In one case the bar was being filed down and the gold shaving sold to a pawn shop. Same as the Dents Run story. Make no sense but you have bars showing up then there gone. As with both stories there are those who handled them. Insiders know outsiders do not. As I said before you can have the gold or fame. Not both. FK chose fame from the start. Only in this case they did not find bars they could show. Jack found 2 bars and he chose to keep the gold. None of the story makes sense. But Jack had gold. Having re-read both articles which came out in the early 70's, First by Francis X. Scully. He wrote the bars of gold were covered with hay. No mention of the gold being covered with tar. Second by Sandra Gardner, she wrote the gold was painted black. No mention of tar. Where did you get your info of tar being poured over the gold?
