Hi All,

I have been playing around in an old park north of San Francisco for several months and up until today I have not found any old coins. Today that changed. It is an old park started in 1908 but was in use long before that. Very hard to find old dirt, most of it is newer landscaping.

Anyway, I was very surprized to find the 1901 penny!! Then I found the 1911 dime, both coins in extremly great shape!!
The wheatback penny is a 1958.

Thanks!!!

great finds... even hunted out parks have goodies to be found.

Nice coins! Look for some more steep trails.

Pinpointing on a steep incline has always driven me nuts.

I love it. it took me awhile to find some old things, hopefully lots more to come, but ya its sweet to find it. I haven't found any real silver yet. but if you don't look you won't find.

thanks gang!!

I went back the next day and was able to find a 1917 dime. I am kinda ashamed to say that these coins, and about $50 worth of clad was found on one trail that is steep, meaning that I thought, "Hmm, I bet a lot of people have slipped on this trail." So, these poor coins, who were once happily snuggled up in pockets, were all jarred loose and rolled out onto the ground and then abandoned by their owners. But then on the other end, I am happy because I have found these orphaned coins, and I have welcomed them into my home!!! ;D
Good thinkin on the slippery slope huntin S.F. Its too bad someone had to take a fall and loose some cash but the the coins were lost and you rescued them.Congrats...Joe
