Hello all, only my second post but wanted to share some finds from my friends fields. I wanted to post earlier but computers and I don't always get along and am busy with work too. in all I've pulled 24 coins and 31 buttons from this field in 2 weeks time, 1 French liard posted in what is it section with thanks to Iron Patch for telling me what it was. 9 British half pennies. 1 William iii penny I think? 5 George ii farthings, if anybody knows why the one portrait is backwards please let me know. 1 1827 cent. 2 large cents 1799 and ?. 2 half cents 1804 and 1806. 2 capped cents 1796 and ?. 1 nj copper and 2 GW buttons. the second GW to follow when I can upload the picture. Also buckles and lots of iron. This field is turning into a great place.

WOW! What a great field that is! Most of the coins are pretty good shape for field finds as well. WTG! Would love to find a new/old place like that. HH

Man you really killed it in that field!, those coppers are in great shape for 1730's!!!

Those are in pretty good shape, very good shape on average!

Yes, you have a Will III.

nice job !!

Fantastic field finds ! Your 1738 KG II is the Best in Jersey . Our gang here in Cape May Co. find KG 's all day but never that detailed . Facing right is a KG I dump flan farthing with 1718 being the year of only ONE known.
Early US Liberty Caps and Draped Bust Cents and half cents are always a welcome find , you did well .
More than likely the 1799 is a 96 or 98 , with 1799 being "extremely rare " . If it is a 1799 you are talking substantial value in the tens of thousands $$$. I am Looking for the GW button ...... but I do not see it :dontknow: friendly warning be careful posting up picture info , remove the pic properties and details by editing in your pic Gallery ............. I have lost three sites because of too many trespassing jerk 's moving in on the private properties . Welcome

Holy smokes, you have an amazing spot there :occasion14:

Those are some nice old coppers, congratulations.

that's the stuff we all dream about! Keep us posted on the date of the "1799" large cent. As CMD wrote, it could be worth 4 figures (depending on condition) if it really is 1799.

PS, the coin to button ratio is staggering. I often find 10 to 20 buttons per copper, so that ratio is off the charts!

I would take a leave of absence from work and put up a tent in the middle of that field

Thanks guys for all the kind posts, yea I'm a little shocked about finding all this here, the GW button is the last picture its light, I found a second with better detail, is says long live the president with GW in the center, I"ll try to upload a bigger picture later. I did quite a bit of reading about the pictures and the sight before posting, all the pictures posted were taken in my home but thanks for the tip,

Awesome finds!! I would pound that place to dust if I were you...:occasion14:
