These two items were found in a park along FL east coast about 3” down and look like some kind of lead bullets, but they each have a cylinder looking back side and the diameters of the cylinders are different sizes. Any ideas?
Bullets or something else?
Kind?
Age?
Thanks for looking!

Thanks, Roundness. So I wonder why I am finding modern pistol bullets in a park. Who would be firing them there?

As far as why? Because someone shot a gun there, or someone used gravel or topsoil from a quarry where people shot (very common).

I was sexton of a 100 year old church and we pulled a section of wood over dirt flooring up in the unfinished utilities room and I found .45 ACP cases and fired bullets. Someone making sure a pistol worked? A murder? Who knows?

I had to google what a Sexton was. Learn something new on here all the time.

When I was able to dig the parks around me, I found several fired bullets. Maybe from the dirt being hauled in, illegal activity, who knows, but they always seem to be there.

Do you want to ask why modern fired bullets in a park? I got a laugh when we discovered my friend's farm was littered with Thompson submachine gun bullets. That must have been fun a long, long time ago.

Even here in Canada where handguns are only legal to use at ranges (pity) I find handgun bullets all over the parks.
