Well we have had record temps for the last 3 days, so it was time to start on my journey to this years goal....less coins with a higher dollar amount. This years goal over $800 in clad with less pennies. So here we go, probably will get in under 10 hunts for month but a very good start, 3 days of hunting produced $18.51 in clad, nothing old. The junk butterfly top right plate for those dfx users came up a 10. Yes I have opened up my discrimination...pretty wide open now... 2 best days were with smaller 5.3 coil (over $8 and over $5), the other day near $5 with stock. The ground is is very soft...was frozen about 3 inches down my first hunt...but with the temp in the 60's, and a ton of rain soft as mush! :)

Here we go again. :D ;D I'll be pulling for you this year Gregg. You're off to a good start

You are off to a good start. Do you detect around parking meters? I keep them cleaned up so i dont have to dig holes.

Yes I do..but not during these hunts... I hit a new park today was easy pickings...I also enjoy parking areas where the grass starts....without meters.... :) Today I gridded out an area 100 feet long just needed to find the right area...once I did...started gridding... ;)

Thanks...I will not post pics everyday anymore...but in groups of 3 days...will not start really hitting it hard till March due to weather...but after not being able to hunt since Dec 4th...because of weather I have been waiting...but winter will return here very quickly... :(

Great start Gregg, Congrats on being able to get out...
Your "3" hunts, $18.51, up on me already, so It looks like I've got some catching up to do... ;D
Haven't had the chance to get out yet this year. Missed a good opportunity yesterday, the weather was great, but I was too busy, and the rain just wouldn't let up today...
Hope you surpass your goals for the year.
Good luck, & Happy hunting~

WTG
Keep up the good work

Nice haul on the clad Gregg, you are definitely off to a great start for the new year and working torwards your new goal. Continued Success throughout the New Year.

Greg, I wish I lived near ya... least I know you would show me some tricks or two with the dfx...but ya sure did dang good man... always good to see what you come up with...

Good start to 08 Gregg. At least we got a weather break so we can get out and play in January. Kind of helped all of us with the cabin fever setting in. ;D

That's a good start, glad for clad.

Looks like three great hunts to me!! Hopefully the trend will continue and you will easily blow your $800 goal!!

That's a great start to your goal DFX-Gregg, very nice wtg. Hope the weather holds up for you.

Thanks Leon...someone on another forum already mentioned..."Gregg you said you would not have any goals"...well I just use goals as a motivator to get out... I think the hardest hunt is the first one after you have not been out for a while...you start looking for reasons not to go out... Hopefully you get some time in, thanks Gregg.

Bryce I really needed to get some detecting in...and you are right the break in the weather did it...what I will do now is go out everyday until I am too sore...then the cold weather will return probably by Sunday...so I will have a while to recover... :D ;D

Thanks everyone else who responded and may you all have some more time to detect this year and a great 08........... :) :)

Gregg, I wish you luck on "paying" for that SE! Everytime you go out, you are one step closer to it. :)

BDD...Kirk

P.S. Will your SE be 1st string next year? ???

I'll take clad anyday. Just lets me know I'm one coin closer to silver ;). Looks like you have hit it hard for those three hunts. Keep up the good work.

Gregg, good to see you've taken advantage of the temps. . . Nice haul on the clad!
In all that mush your digging in, your holes must be filling up with water before you can fill them back in :D

(It's always good to remove all the clad that may be "masking" the good stuff)

Take care & HH!
