Went out on our old family farm which was a Hop farm in the 1800s. Got a screaming signal on my AT Pro and almost didn't dig it because I figured it was an old piece of farm steel .
Dug it anyways and out popped my first big silver ever . A beautiful 1891-0 Morgan silver dollar . I called my MD mentor over who was on the other end of the field to see it and when he did he said . "Someone is watching over you I have been doing this for 35 yrs and I have never found a silver dollar you have been doing it for 4 months and you hit one ." I told him before my dad died he told me in the 1800s the migrant workers came through in the spring to plant the hops and the fall to harvest and they were always paid in silver. So I figured if I looked long enough on the farm I hoped I would find one . I was floating on the clouds after that .
We looked for another 4 hrs and had an incredible day overall . We ended up with the 1891 Morgan , a 1798 LC , a 1804 Half Cent and a 1839 LC . My buddy found the Half cent and the 1839 LC while I found my first ever 1700s coin the 1798 LC .
Im going back out in a little while as my honey do list is done for the day and we only covered like 10% of the fields I have avalible to hunt on our farm . I didn't get any pics of the morgan in the hole as I was to excited to think about a camera . Sorry
