I actually dug this button on the 22nd of October but just now got around to cleaning it up and getting pictures posted.
Got lucky and dug this while coin shooting but in an area that had civil war activity. Been wanting to dig one for over 10 years.

That's awesome bud! Huge congrats at getting one you've been looking for. Real beauty

A FANTASTIC find, and in great shape too! Would love to grab one of those someday . . .

Thanks Everyone A-lot of time put in to get that one.

Now if I can Get a NC Sunburst 'Cast'
A Confederate Staff Officer
and Def, one of those Rare SC Buttons that are Known to Hang around Here.

IMO these are the 3 Non-Union buttons I'm most likely to dig in my area.
Around here Many Confederates used GS Eagle Buttons as I have dug many in Confederate Sites.

Thanks Again All

That's a nice old button with nice green patina

Jackpot! That's a great find. GL with the other's.

A cast I is on my list. They hold up so much better than the two piece ones.

Congrats on a fantastic old find. May it be the first of many.

Congratulations on the cast I. Took me awhile to find my first and dug another a short time ago.
Nothing like pulling confederate items out of the ground.

That's awesome! Never found one myself, but I was hunting with a buddy in Lenoir Co. N.C. some years ago that found one. His appeared to be pewter and was not complete. When do you want me to come down and hunt with you? :laughing7: Congrats!

Wow, and awesome piece of our Nation's history right there. Congrats on a killer find my friend.

WTG Davers! You've found a great button and one that is in seriously nice condition. Congrats to you!
