Well went out today with a friend, been out there a few times. Last time we went I stumbled across an old site, finding horse shoes, square nails, and old smithing tools. Last time I found a minie ball, this time found a button!! About twenty feet from where I found the three ringer. Hope more is to come

All the patina was off when I found it, rough soil type. Sandy, red sand at times. Glad I found it!! Next time I hope I find the campsite.

Was about four inches down. As was the mini ball. Had my six inch dd on, because of the nails. Sure there's more, just gotta get through the nails.

Thanks! I hope so. That was a major surprise, I wasn't even expecting anything civil war in this area. Ya never know though. Just sucks the shield is dented in..

Congratulations! hope there are many more to come, I bet if you took a toothpick and gently scraped the surface a lot of the dirt would come off and show more detail in the wings etc.

GOOD JOB

Those GS Eagle Buttons Get Harder to find Everyday.

congrats on the union eagle button!!

Congratulations!! I want one!!!!

Congrats... Nice that you could tell what it was as well. I got my first CW button about a month ago, but you can't tell what it is. Congrats on the first again!

Thanks!! Yea, I'm getting back out there ASAP. Going to another place today, try my luck there.

Well, been back three times to find nothing but ticks. Everytime I go there I have to check for those little creeps. Might be more there, just really thick underbrush, and that spot is full of nails. Having to use my six inch head to find stuff, so I got alot more ground to cover.
