Matt(12 years old) wants to show off what he found. I'll let him tell you:

Just showing what i found today, there is not alot of money there but i did manage to find:59 cents, 1948S nickel, 1947S penny, 1 good for one fare token(might sell it to my mom she uses these, sell it for $1), a gold bracelet, a wing earring plated with bronze, a button with an anchor on it, a butterfly, a charm with paint, key, an earrring with 16small fake diamonds and one big one. I will go back there on wednesday. I an half way through the park and there is a sledding hill where there is alot of money. Any way to tell if somthing is gold(no carat mark on it) thanks

Nice diggin Matt!
Great to find gold aint it?

Keep safe and keep diggin'...

The bracelet in tle 4th picture is 10k gold, took it to a jeweler, but the rest of the jewelry is not >:( >:(

You kind of wrote like you didn't think the day was all that productive...I think you had a great day!

Congrats on the 10k bracelet, wooowhoo on the goldie!

This is kind of cool, in the past two or three weeks, I have found four items the same as is in your picture, the butterfly pendant (Prober found one exact like that too), the key, the wing earring, and the electronic LCD thingie. That thing is actually the top piece of a ring. I have found about 15 of them and finally one of them actually worked. It blinks very brightly when screwed together, different interesting patterns. I think it would be capable of giving an epileptic a seisure!

Great finds!!

Smiles!

way to go matt! anyday that you dig gold is an awesome day! ;)

Hi, Matt's dad here. It might not come out in his posts, but he gets excited during the whole process. If we have a trip planned, he gets excited about going. Every find is a potential "real" piece of jewelry so he gets excited about that too. The other day when I took him to the jeweler to have his finds checked out, he got this little smile when he found out that the bracelet was real gold.

Thanks for giving him the encouraging words.

Al(Matt's dad)

Even the most seasoned detectorists would be happy with a day like that!

Congratulations on an excellent hunt!

nice wheatie --I like wheat pennies---and any gold item is good have you seen the price if gold lately? I am grown up and I be happy with park finds like that---be sure to check these spots ---under /around the swings esp where kids (and some time grown ups) jump off them and land at---near the landing spots of the slides---monkey bars--(kids just love to hang upside down from them and well the money and stuff just drops out their pockets) these spots have often "paid" off well for me over the years---Ivan

Matt,
That is great!!! You got out and found some very nice items!!! Good job :)

Way to go Matt. My sons name is Matthew, he is 12 years old and is just getting into metal detecting :)

Way to go Matt, nice little gold bracelet. Yep, Bdoo is right, we both found that same butterfly, there must be a lot of them around; either that or no one wants them and they toss them out. LOL Keep up the good work.

Good grief, look at all that STUFF! You dug that in just one day?

You're gettin' me charged up to go out even in the 90+ heat here - although that'll last about as long as it takes me to get into the car...

Ya did good.
