So I took my first dive with the new Excal II at the local lake swimming dock. Went real well in that I was primarily focusing on just getting used to the situation of using the detector while diving. Only complaint is that even with my volume maxed, it is still difficult to hear the detector's tones in detail up against my exhaust bubbles and poorly equalized ears. I find myself holding my breath (which is a diving no-no) while zeroing in on the target. I suppose it is just a matter of practice. My question is how do we know if the Excal II is fully charged? Outside of using a voltmeter to check the battery voltage, is there another way to know or do people just plug it in after use and charge it for the night or what? I just don't want to damage the battery or run out of juice unexpectedly. What do you guys do?
Thanks in advance!
