We see a lot of amazing discoveries on T-net, some of which are practically magazine-worthy. This is not one of those discoveries :tongue3:. But for me, it was one of my best hunts, and it only lasted an hour.

Found my first ever silver quarter, a 1958 Washie. Also found a smashed earring that looks gold but has the word SILVER stamped on it. I did some acid tests and it passed for 10K gold, so maybe it's gold-plated silver. To top off my hunt, found a pocket spill of clad.

Happy hunting, all!

Great to hear! Let's hope there are more of them in our future :occasion14:

The first of anything is great...a first silver quarter is up there so CongratZ!

That's a nice find I go out and itn is very hard to find silver lots of clad but I think it makes it that much better when you do find one. Thanks for the post hope theres more to follow!!!!

Congrats on your first ever silver quarter!! May not be magazine worthy but, definitely a worthy find. I'll take a silvet quarter anyday, Congrats!!

Congrats on your first quarter. Hope you find a hundred more!!

Nice Washington! Silver quarters are FUN. Way to go!

Congratulations!
A thrill for sure!
My first (1952) silver quarter while I was visiting in Connecticut,
same day I found a Flying Eagle Cent and an Indian Head Cent.
Gotta be in the right place to find those oldies, huh?

I used to be somewhat embarrassed to show my "bucket listers" amid the Spanish reales and colonial coins finds , and the comments of "gold ring number 75 for the year", and "1800's silver pocket spill find" types of shared comments. Don't get me wrong, those are amazing reads and keep me dreaming. ALL the positive comments I get from my simplest finds from members are amazing and make my finds seemed important that I no longer feel hesitant to share any of my finds. This is a great group who share not just their amazing finds but give encouragement to us all for ours.
Great find. I am still waiting for my first silver quarter and the posing of it.

I found a little heart pendant, marked 925, but plated gold... probably what you got too.

Congrats on the silver quarter, I bet you were all excited when that BIG silver coin popped out of the dirt. They are always a welcome site!

Best of luck to you sir!

That quarter is a great find. Nothing to be ashamed of. Congrats.

Congratulations on your first silver quarter.
It deserves a little respect. Put it in a cardboard coin folder and mark it in RED, with the date on which you found it.

Congrats on your first silver quarter! Mine was also a Washington, a 48-D that I still have. You'll always remember your first, but I'm sure there are lots more out there for you- GL!!

Your first silver quarter is a sweet find! Congrats!
Nice earring find too.
Don't you just love pocket spills, a bunch of coins and less digging!

We're all here for one another.
Sometimes we think that the people who make great finds have found it all. Only to find out, that silver quarter you just found, has eluded them.

I found a largepocket spill, but i've been lazy and didn't post.
