Welcome to the board. Really like to see some pics of your bottles, there are a lot of bottles that are quite valuable and there are plenty of folks willing to buy them. Ive been into bottles for many years so Im quite particular about which ones I am willing to drag home. I dont keep anything with a screwcap unless its cobalt blue. Anything with old embossing is a keeper including milks and meds. When you start digging bottles with pontil marks on the bottom or applied/glob tops you know you are in a really old spot and you whould try and get them all. Let us know what detector you are swinging and people will come out of the woodwork with helpful hints and tricks. The most important part is to try and get out with your detector as much as possible, they are all different and each takes quite a bit of time to really figure out. Bury some coins in your yard at different depths and throw in some trash with a few of them it will give you a rough idea of what certain things sound like. Get out to some schoolyards in the woodchips where you will find a lot of coins and different items it will help you to really get a feel for your machine and you will learn to avoid digging all the cans. When you find a target circle around it and try and determine its size/shape. Big items will show a depth more shallow than they actually are, likewise small items will show up deeper than they are. A coin size target will generally be near the depth that is shown. Hope this helps ya out a little bit, patience is really the most important part, especially when you are first starting out. Keep at it steady and your skills and finds will improve,HH...Shoot
