Update: a couple members say it's Georgian period...late 1700s/early 1800s...I'm over the moon...

I did dig a possible white gold ring a few months ago, but this one i'm fairly sure is legit. Rang up as a 12-20 on the e-trac and was only about 3" deep. weight is 7.2g. i've been trying to decipher the hallmarks...there's an anchor which i think means Birmingham U.K., there's a bust which i think is a duty mark (if that's what it is then it was was made sometime between 1784 and 1890), and then there's "MP" stylized together...any info on that?

Awesome gold ring, looks to be very old. I have the same exact campaign token as well found in Loudoun County, Va. Very cool.

Sweet!!! Awesome gold ring and finds!

I agree with Park Pirate the ring has a rich gold color maybe 18-24 K. Nice!

That's a nice looking ring...looks high karat!

Congratz on your first GOLD ring! It looks awesome and is definitely GOLD!

not only a ring but an old one!! good on ya mate

I'm still jealous

Those are nice finds.

That ring is really sweet. It looks really old to me, and maybe it's the pics, but it looks really gold... like high karat gold. Congrats, that's a really nice find.

Best of luck in the Garden State!

Great big congratulations on a beautiful "first gold ring." Sub 8-)

Great bunch of finds...that gold ring is stellar!

Congratulations on your first golden ticket, and Many more! :occasion14:

Love the old gold. Congrats!

Awsome find, now you're hooked for life !!!!!

What a lunker!

nice looking gold and other finds. I'd say that's a great hunt

Thanks for the replies all. A couple members on the 'what is it' forum that sound like they know what they're talking about say it's Georgian period...late 1700s/early 1800s. I can't stop staring at this thing. It fits my pinkie I'm temped to wear it.

Gold rocks!! I mean silver is awesome and I love every silver coin or jewelry piece I've ever dug but this has to be my favorite find so far.

Happy hunting all!

Congrats on your first gold!!

That's a really awesome ring! Congrats and HH

before reading the comments, my first thought was "is that King George" in the hallmarks. So I'd venture to say it's as old as you mentioned. Huge congrats!

I would at least get it tested. It may always remain somewhat of a mystery a lot like my Pomander find, but at least yours is marked. It will be hard to top a find like that though if it is indeed 18th or early 19th

That's a beauty, I'm sure it's got to be 18k or higher, congrats
